Visa
Welcome to the Visa Section of Malawi Immigration Website
The section provides information on the procedure that is applicable to all foreign nationals who wish to apply for visa (evisa.gov.mw) to enter or re-enter Malawi. In Malawi, visa means an entry or endorsement in a passport or other travel document by an immigration officer or any official of Government so authorized, indicating that the bearer has been granted permission to enter or re-enter Malawi and serves only the purposes of entry rather than stay. If you wish to use this website for the purpose of staying, working or doing business, please refer to our permit website (epermit.gov.mw).
A visa does not give an automatic right of entry to the holder. The Government reserves the right to interview the holder at the port of entry and may refuse the holder entry. The visa applications must be submitted online by visiting our eVisa website (evisa.gov.mw) from anywhere in the world.
For Prospective Applicants
If you wish to apply for a visa to enter Malawi, please read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed in the site or by visiting our eVisa website (evisa.gov.mw) will help you prepare your documents accurately. This also will help to reduce any delays due to inadequate or incorrect submission of documents. You can know whether you need a visa to enter Malawi or not, by referring to the Visa Required Nationals or Non Visa Required nationals in this section.
